News from the Guidance Department:.

  • Attention Juniors, The ring ceremony will be held in the Auditorium on April 28th at 2pm.

  • The WMHS senior awards program is this Friday at 8:30 AM in the auditorium. Invitations for students receiving awards or scholarships will continue to be given today. Family and friends are invited to attend. 

  • All library books are due this week! Please make sure to turn books in to the blue return box outside of the library to avoid fees placed on your student accounts.

  • Anyone interested in Driver's Ed classes to be held on weekends during the month of  May can come see Coach Osborne in the PE gym.

Sports News: 

 

  • Baseball will host Chalmette in a three game series for the second round of the Division 1 Non-Select Playoffs. The first game is tomorrow at 6 Pm, second is friday at 6 Pm, and if necessary, Saturdays game will be a 1 PM. Let’s pack Shelby Aulds Field!!

  • Tryouts for girls powerlifting will be Thursday, April 25 at 3:45 PM in the old gym. You must have a current physical. Attire will be tennis shoes, athletic shorts, and a t-shirt, not tanks or cut off shirts. See Coach Sims in the old gym for any questions! 

  • Track and Field will be competing in Regionals today at Northwestern State University. Wish these folks luck as they seek out a path to the State Meet. 

  • To any boys interested in Rebel Soccer next year, Tryouts will be April 29th, 30th, and May 1st. Come by and see coach Dickman in room 1204 to pick up a packet. You must have an up to date physical to be able to try out.

  • Softball is having an exhibition game against West Ouachita tonight benefiting and supporting Chance Robinson! Game time is at six at the Softball field.

Club and Organization News:

 

  • Junior Civitans will have a quick meeting after school today in room 6206 to make some posters for the Dixie Diehard game on Friday! See Mrs. Beach if you have any questions.

  • Today was the last FCS meeting of the year.  We would like to thank our Senior Leaders for all their hard work and time that they poured into our students, our Guest Speakers for waking up early and sharing God's word with us, and, lastly, we want to thank everyone who attended our meetings this year. We look forward to seeing you next school year!

  • Powderpuff practice has been canceled for players due to the practice field being closed for construction. ONLY dancers/cheerleaders Will have practice in the new gym from 3:30 to 4:30 to finish learning their routines.

  • Remember, this is Student Council Week. Be sure to check out the activities on the boardwalk & make a donation to the Care Closet. If you dressed like Adam Sandler today, remember to Stop by Mrs. Nix's room 3105 to take a picture in your outfits. There are  prizes for best dressed!  Thanks to Student Council for all they do for our school. 

  • The West Monroe Rebel Color Guard has a long-standing achievement. They travel with the band to competitions in the fall semester and aid the band in crucial elements to portray the music the crowd hears. In winter, they compete at indoor competitions exhibiting their skills and talents. . They want HARD WORKING, DEDICATED, and TEACHABLE young people to join the team. If you are interested in finding out more or participating in auditions, packets are available in the front office.  They look forward to seeing you at the auditions. 

  • The West Monroe Sign Shop is making 2 sided signs for 2024 Senior Graduates. They are 2 sided and say "Senior 2024" and "West Monroe High" and the students first and last name. Signs are white with Red and blue lettering. Signs can be obtained on the West Monroe High Web Site under the "quick Links" within the "online School Payments" for $10. Look for "Senior 2024 Signs."
